4 Georgia Bulldogs to watch in UGA's spring game (2025)

Spring practice at the University of Georgia is winding down entering the Georgia Bulldogs' annual spring game, G-Day. The 2025 edition of G-Day will be held at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 12.

Georgia's spring game is expected to feature a lot of passing like in previous seasons. However, Georgia could look to run the ball a little bit more this year after last season's rushing decline.

Spring football is a time for optimism. Georgia has one of the most talented teams in the country, but the 2025 version of Georgia football is more unproven than previous teams. Georgia does not return as much experience as it did last year and has a new starting quarterback.

Who are four players to watch in Georgia's spring game?

Quarterback Gunner Stockton

This is a pretty obvious one. Gunner Stockton is Georgia's projected starting quarterback and has gone through his first spring as the starter. Stockton, a redshirt junior, brings experience and mobility to the position.

It will be interesting to see how he connects with Georgia's wide receivers, especially several of the transfers. Speaking of wide receivers...

Wide receiver Zachariah Branch

Former USC Trojans wide receiver Zachariah Branch transferred to Georgia this offseason. Branch is a former five-star recruit with outstanding athleticism, but the biggest question is how will Georgia and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo maximize his production.

Branch averaged 39.0 receptions, 411.5 receiving yards and 1.5 touchdowns during two seasons at USC. Georgia needs to find creative ways to get Branch the ball in space and probably won't unveil nifty new plays to get him the ball in the spring game.

Quarterback Ryan Puglisi

In 2024, Georgia fans learned first-hand that the Bulldogs are just one injury away from starting their back up. Georgia redshirt freshman Ryan Puglisi has impressed coaches and insiders in practice, but he has never appeared in a game and missed the 2024 spring game with an injury.

"I think it's been a pretty good spring so far," said Puglisi on his spring practice performance ahead of G-Day. "Obviously, there are ups and downs in the spring."

Beyond Ryan Puglisi on the depth chart are a pair of true freshmen quarterbacks in Ryan Montgomery (injured, former four-star) and Hezekiah Millender (former three-star). Additionally, walk-on quarterback Collin Drake could factor into the quarterback room if UGA has injuries. Drake figures to see some snaps on G-Day.

"From where I am right now in the spring, to where I was last year with the injury, I think I've progressed a little bit. Being in the offense for a good amount of time now, everything is starting to slow down, and I'm making faster decisions," Puglisi said.

Defensive lineman Elijah Griffin

Elijah Griffin is Georgia's top ranked signee in the class of 2025. He enrolled early and has impressed throughout spring practice.

Griffin needs to make an immediate impact with Georgia this fall. The Bulldogs lost a ton of front-seven production this offseason (over 75% of 2024 sack production) and needs players like Griffin to step up.

Georgia's spring game will not be televised, but fans can tune in via the radio broadcast.
