There are a lot of new things waiting for you in the Skyline Valley update (June 2024) with the map expansion in southern Appalachia to Shenandoah National Park. One of them is a new endgame event called "Neurological Warfare". The event takes place in the arena of the Hawksbill Weather Station in the north of Skyline Valley.
This endgame event, like the Queen, Earle Williams or the Ultrazit Titan, is also triggered by a nuke. But with one difference. Every impact zone in the new area triggers the event. The nuke also doesn't destroy camps nor kills players in skyline valley. And the impact zone is NOT shown on the map. Not even under "World Activities". After the nuke has hit, the event starts and the weather changes in the entire Skyline Valley area. The event and the missile status silo holotape are the only ways to tell whether a nuke is active in Skyline Valley. I hope this will be made clearer at release or later.
Event sequence "Neurological Warfare"
As soon as you travel to the active event, you arrive on the upper level in front of the arena. If you want to get there by foot, you have to walk to the Hawksbill Weather Station and take the elevator up there. You can actually jump from above over the mountains into the arena.
In the waiting area there are some workbenches and power armor stations as well as a stashbox. All players meet there for the event. Similar to Earle's "A Colossal Problem" in the Monongah Mine.
As soon as the arena is released, the event starts and 3 gigantic robots spawn: the Stormgoliaths Nona, Decima and Morta. They have 10.000 HP and a 20% damage reduction. If 1 Stormgoliath is killed, the remaining 2 get 40% damage reduction. When 1 Stormgoliath is left, it gets 60% damage reduction.
And another hint from Mapex (Fallout 76 Datamining Discord): The damage reduction is completely disabled when a robot is down by crippling.
Tip: First shoot all 3 stormgoliath down to low HP and then finish one after the other. Always cripple in between.
The robots' attacks mainly causeenergy damage and melee damage. And you should also keep an eye on the ground, the ground is regularly electrified. When the robots raise their arms, there are energy strikes from above that hit some places like rockets. At the same time, you are always "detected" in the arena, so it's not an ideal environment for command builds. Several command builds in safe positions can certainly end the event quickly. Otherwise, heavy weapons, power armor and the legendary perk "Electric Absorption" are recommended. We'll soon find out the best combination for ourselves.
When all 3 Storm Goliaths are defeated, you will receive legendary loot from all three as well as the event reward. If the event fails, the robots will drop dead, but you will still receive their loot, just no loot from the event.
