Skyline Valley is the 19th major update for Fallout 76 and the second one to be released in 2024. Skyline Valley features the new region “Skyline Valley”, a new main questline, two new public events, and the start of Season 17.

Fallout 76 Skyline Valley Release Date

Fallout 76: Skyline Valley will be released on June 12, 2024. The Skyline Valley release date was officially announced during the Xbox Games Showcase alongside the official Skyline Valley Launch Trailer.

The Public Test Server (PTS for short) for Skyline Valley has been available since April 18, 2024. Among other things, the new region, the new main questline, and the new public event “Dangerous Pastimes” are available on the PTS.

New Content in Skyline Valley

The “Skyline Valley” update includes the following major new features:

  • New region “Skyline Valley”
  • New main questline in Skyline Valley
  • New public event “Dangerous Pastimes”
  • New public event “Neurological Warfare”
  • Start of Season 17

New Region “Skyline Valley”

The new region “Skyline Valley” extends the existing Appalachia map to the south. It is located south of Savage Divide between Ash Heap and Cranberry Bog.

Skyline Valley is based on the real-world Shenandoah region including locations inspired by real life such as Marys Rock Tunnel, the Presidential cabins at Rapidan Camp, and Skyline Drive.

A violent electric storm is looming overhead Skyline Valley. In the epicenter of the storm, you’ll find Vault 63 which is inhabited by new electrified ghouls called “The Lost”. The new main questline will lead you there.

New Main Questline in Skyline Valley

The new main questline in Skyline Valley consists of the following 11 quests that lead you into Vault 63:

  1. An Unlikely Invitation
    • Reward: Plan: Pip-Boy 2000 Burnt Paint
    • During “An Unlikely Invitation” you’ll get the Miscellaneous quest “Gather Personal Effects for Craig”. For this quest, you need to find find 3 items that are important for Craig.   2. Into Lands Unknown
    • Reward: Plan: Shenandoah Park Sign
  3. The Calm Before
    • Reward: Plan: Lost Burnt Vault Jumpsuit

  5. Housekeeping for Hire
    • Reward: V63 Shock Baton (weapon)
  6. Seeking Shelter
    • Reward: Ticket to Revenge (weapon)
  7. Oldest Trick in the Book
    • Reward: Plan: Cultist Monarch Outfit & Plan: Cultist Monarch Mask
  8. The Powerhouse of the Cell

  9. Double-Crossed Wires

  10. Gathering Clouds

New Public Event “Dangerous Pastimes”

Dangerous Pastimes is one of the new public events in the Skyline Valley update. It takes place at the Thunder Mountain Substation TM-03.

In the Dangerous Pastimes event, you’ll help thrill-seeking storm chasers get the best picture of the storm. Your tasks during the event are the following:

  1. Find and collect parts to repair the Lightning Harvesters.
  2. Charge the Lightning Harvesters by killing Charged enemies.
  3. Defeat the Charged Boss within the time limit.

New Public Event “Neurological Warfare”

Neurological Warfare is one of the new public events coming in the Skyline Valley update. It takes place at the Hawksbill Weather Station.

The Neurological Warfare event is triggered by nuking the Skyline Valley. In the Robot Testing Area at the Hawksbill Weather Station, you’ll then fight the three Storm Goliaths “Storm Goliath Morta”, “Storm Goliath Decima”, and “Storm Goliath Nona”.

Start of Season 17

The Skyline Valley update will also start Season 17 in Fallout 76 which is Pioneer Scouts-themed. The rewards you can expect include new C.A.M.P. items, weapons, and new armor paints.
